Insane and Insensible

A few days ago, Mariana was trying to let me in on the philosophy behind the movie "Un chien andalou", by Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí. I don't know how or why the readings I'm doing for my final essay made me think about our discussion, but I took advantage of this flashback and looked up the movie on youtube. I found it, I watched it, I didn't understand much of it, of course, then I went on wikipedia, I understood a bit more, and I finally accepted the fact that I have to dedicate more time to deciphering this movie... as soon as possible. Until then, I only have one question: am I weird for not being repulsed or shocked by the famous shot of the eye getting cut by a knife? Buñuel himself said he placed that scene at the beginning so that people would enter a psychedelic state that would allow them to better absorb the surreal atmosphere of the movie. Am I already that dysfunctional or is it just that I've seen this scene too many times and read even more about it?

My Newest Hobby

Last Saturday, during a "gift exchange session", luck wanted me to have this game. Somebody else's luck also wanted them to have this game, so they ended up taking it home. It's true that I eventually received a French bookstore gift certificate, but I'm too shallow for that!!! I wanted the darn HorseRacingDrinkingGame, not some... books! Whew!!! So I bought it on Friday evening... I wanted to use it Friday night, after we got home, but the bigger glasses appeared to save us time :)) . Anyway, I'll put it to good use, don't anybody worry!
I still have to go over the rules... are they really that important, anyway?

Awareness

I finally understood why it's so difficult to do my homework on Fridays, why it takes me an hour to write two lines: no ciggies for 8 hours!!! Had no idea there was a connection between them. This is the sad truth: nicotine inspires me :(. 11.20 hours left...

[Later edit]: I did it! Yes, I did it! I went and asked for a ciggie break. And I GOT one: "Of course you can take a break every now and then :) ." AND YOU TELL ME THAT NOW?!!! Hahahahahahaaaa....
Ningeeeeeeeeeeee!!!

Conteaza ca in sfarsit s-a facut lumina, durata n-are relevanta. Aham! Nu e ca si cand in versuri ar aparea de circa 100 de ori vreun cuvant din familia lexicala a verbului menear si eu nu m-as fi prins. Deci, in concluzie si prin urmare:

menear = to move / shake one's body = a-si undui corpul => Meneaito / Meneito (ambele utilizate)

A Piece of Me

Since I'm so obsessed with music, I've decided to add this new feature I've discovered on a site: those who read my blog (and now I can say that, since I know at least 2 or 3 people read this nonsense :) ) will have the pleasure :))) to discover my refined taste in music. As I tend to listen to one song for a few days in a row, I'll probably be changing the lyrics every week or so (if I don't end up by finding it completely useless and eventually remove it). I noticed a few typos while reading the lyrics, but I'm not going to complain.
Come to think of it, I might steal someone's idea... I hadn't thought about it until now, to be honest, but when I found this lyrics link the idea kind of warmed up to me. I don't know yet, I feel like I'm putting to big of a load on this blog for someone who just said they don't need a blog...

Isn't It True That the Earth is Rectangular?

Something one of my French teachers (whom I happen to like a lot, actually) said (in French, of course, but I'm not planning on using that language):

"What tenses belong to the indicative mode? Well, all those that we use constantly... present, future, past perfect, past tense, conditional... let me check the "Bescherelle" (a conjugation book)... yeah, that's right."

Am I weird for being extremely bothered by that? Oh, need I mention that I don't get the point of asking such a question during a course of this level? Or the fact that nobody contradicted her? ( not to show off, but I've already done it twice and, although she took it well, I'm not going to push her limits :D )
