Friday the 13th
Who dares say that this date always brings "a series of unfortunate events" :P ? Just because of what happened back in... hmm... somewhere around the 12th century, if I'm not mistaking, we can't always be thinking of Friday the 13th as of a malefic date. Unless a car hits me on the way back home or some student gets really mad with me for not being able to turn the a.c. off, I should be able to say that I had a great day.
What happened? Not much. It's just that this morning I got some news I had been waiting for some time now: I should finally receive the letter of acceptance from La Rioja, as they told me they would send it on Monday. They also gave me a list of the places where I can find a room, be it for the first few days or for the whole period. I should be spending a lot of time on the phone on Tuesday, considering I have to make reservations for a plane ticket and for my room. The price for the room looks ok to me, I found something I could call reasonable, but I still need to get a second and third opinion, so I'll get back to you on that (I know you'll be desperately waiting :)) ). It's just... I don't know, it feels great to actually worry about these things, to feel how, with each day, your dream becomes more and more real. On the other hand, I checked their schedule again and discovered that the second semester begins on February 19th, not on the 9th, as I thought, so I'll probably leave on the 1st of the same month, to make sure I have my room and time to get used to the place :)) . It also means I'll be home for my husband's birthday, as I didn't know whether I'll be able to spend it with him or not.
At work... what can I say? "Busy" day (there were actually 12 students in the lab at once! :) ), most of them with questions and complaints, but I think I did ok. Except for the a.c. ... it's freezing, it's always been like this, but now a student complained (I was soo happy, as I hadn't thought of talking to Patrick - our "boss"... lol - and asking him to turn it down a bit... it's not like I can't put on an extra coat) and... well, nothing happened, as they said the computers need a certain temperature to function properly (maybe that's why my computer lets me down once in a while, I should try keeping it inside the fridge).
Time should be flying from now on...
Last day of school...let the vacation begin
