Romeo and Juliet at "La luna"

Tonight my friends took me to "La luna", a club where every Thursday evening people get together to listen to stories, jokes, legends and such other tales narrated by various... artists, why not? I've been wanting to go for a long time, but tonight I did not feel like getting out of the house (as if I stood a chance!). I eventually decided to go and found myself listening to stories about... love, indeed! Did they know I was going or what?
Well, there was one story that almost had me stand up while clapping. What can I do? No matter what I might say or how I might act, deep down inside I'm a hopeless romantic. It's an imaginary tale inspired by the Shakespearean play "Romeo and Juliet"... and it goes something like this:

As he lived in a different city and was not able to see Juliet, Romeo sent a messenger to Verona with a letter for his lover. The only problem was that this messenger did not only carry letters, but also mortal diseases, since he traveled through so many cities (and about all diseases were mortal at the time, right?). Once he reached Verona, he found Juliet and started reading the letter out loud. Before getting the chance to finish it, he fell down and died because of his illness. Everyone who was around ran away, as the illness was contagious, but Juliet, out of her deep love for Romeo, took the letter from the messenger's hand and continued reading the rest. Upon having finished reading the letter she died, struck by the same illness. Her love was much stronger than the fear of death...

Too bad I can't tell the story as the guy did :(! And it sounded so much better in Spanish :P! I know it's kind of exaggerated, but it was simply beautiful... !
My roommates' reaction: "Very romantic, it's true, but extremely stupid, as well!" NO, it's not stupid, it's true love, something so rare nowadays... I know, I know, I'm not being reasonable! Blah!

I guess you "forgot" the "... but it's WRONG!" part :)).
