Onboard Security Rules

When boarding a plane, you might not be able to take the following items with you (we must remember that regulations change all the time and scientists could always discover new items that can be used to create bombs or stab people):

- guns - you should've left before the attacks, this way you could've brought along your favourite bazooka.
- makeup - makes perfect sense! Go ahead with the persecution of women! And I had especially bought some pink eye shadow, just to take pride in making the first pink bomb ever... another ruined dream!
- certain sharp objects - make sure you let your manicurist know, or they might pull out your nails before boarding the plane; that means no toothpicks, either... this is getting worse and worse!
BUT you CAN bring knitting needles - no tweezers, though! They're right, I always end up in the emergency room after using them. I sense a new invention coming our way - the knitting needles you can pluck your eyebrows with.
- musical instruments - completely understandable. What if you don't play the flute as well as you think you do? You might get hurt by some annoyed passanger.
- shoes with any kind of gel inside - they'll take them away from you, even if they're on your feet. Oh, yes, they will, so make sure you wear black socks, just in case.
- passangers are no longer able to transport live lobsters - does this mean people used to actually bring live lobsters in their carry-on bags? In any bags, for that matter... never thought of such a pet, but it's good to keep in mind.

Joke aside, I understand most of these regulations. What amazes me is that, on the other hand, the new plane tickets look like a regular sheet of paper with the airports' names and departure/ arrival times on them. One of our friends asked me to give him a copy so that he could make a few, since he's planning to go to Romania some time soon. If it weren't for a few number series that I believe (at least I HOPE) are tracking numbers, agency codes and other "security" measures, I'd see no problem with his request. He actually wanted us to go to the airport and make sure that was a real ticket :). No, I won't let his paranoia get to me!

Correction

It's actually been 17 years, not 16. It must have something to do with denial... Isn't it unbelievable how time just goes by?

Mmmm...

I must've done something terribly wrong since all my links went down the drain, to the bottom of the page :( . Am I such a bad person that everyone and everything must run away from me? :))))

HELP!!!

Confusion, Again

What in the world is Jhoos?!!! Of course I know what it is, I had to check it out, my curiosity has no limits... neither does my "I've had enough!"- feeling. Why would an adorable friend of mine invite me to such a site? All I can say is that I'm tremendously happy to only have about 10 days of school left; I'll then have enough time to move my bed next to the computer, bring the fridge along as well and start browsing all these sites... hi5, tagged, Jhoos, Yahoo! 360 or something like that etc. ... I will also have the opportunity to discover many more others and even try sentimente, match... hmmmm, I should Google some more, it seems that I'm a bit behind, can't think of any others.
I appreciate the thought, I really do; I even play with hi5 sometimes, but I'm a poor, simple soul, that gets confused easily, is not too good with id's & passwords and needs 10 minutes to find a specific site in the looooong "bookmarks" list :P . I need professional help :D ! Someone... anyone :)) ?

Undernet Forum vs. Hi5

I was talking earlier to someone about my reasons for joining the Constanta Undernet forum (and kind of moving there after the 30th of January :P ). The starting point of the discussion were the many "friends websites", such as www.hi5.com. I was telling him that I don't see the point in becoming a member of a multitude of sites that allow you to add thousands of pictures of people who call themselves "your friends", but whom you've never met or had any kind of dialogue with. They become "your friends" mainly because they see your picture and enjoy the view. I don't know how many are actually interested in the things you write in your profile. Well, my "partner in crime" said that meeting different people might represent a certain kind of consolation, it might fill a gap from your real life. At first I didn't agree with this idea (and I still don't, so far as hi5 is concerned), but I immediately realised what he meant: he was talking about the exact same feeling I had when joining the forum. I missed home, I missed Constanta, and I missed talking to people my own age about something other than past and present relationships or about how long I had been here for and what courses I was taking. I wasn't looking for friends, I was certain that surfing the net was not the way to start meaningful relationships. I was just trying to fill part of the gap, I guess. As far as friendships go, I was proven wrong. I found there something I had no idea I was missing; to be honest, I didn't even know such a... hmmm... "thing" existed. At the same time I actually made friend...s, pals. I encountered people with interests similar to mine, I had a good laugh sometimes, I got into "fights", I gained knowledge and some strength even. I've learnt so much from the people I found there! I've learnt that I have so much more to learn, that, although I tend to be oversensitive, I can still move on and accept others' opinions or just discard and ignore them and that whatever many years can't heal may just go away in a few days. I've discovered that whenever you feel the need to just scream and let it all out there'll be something that saves you at the last minute and gives you the power to keep smiling, that everything has a solution and that what looks like a mean remark may be meant to encourage you to express yourself... I've understood many, many things. I'm not going to talk about the downside of Undernet forum... let's try and stay positive :) .
Hi5 and all similar sites, on the other hand, don't inspire me. I opened a hi5 account out of curiosity (I had even forgotten I had one for a while) and I was extremely disappointed. I tried to have fun for a few days, but I only enjoyed browsing the profiles of people I was familiar with... that was about it. Nothing interesting.
