Elefantelul in magazinul cu borcane :-)

In ultimele luni m-am straduit sa-i gatesc sotului felurile sale preferate, avand in vedere ca in curand voi pleca si el nu este pasionat de invartitul tigailor sau de aburitul oalelor.

Just a Few Questions

Why are we so racist? Why do we let Bush do whatever occurs to his area in between his pockets and his... attempt of a brain? Why do Americans have the right to get the name of every person that's supposed to board a plane FLYING OVER the U.S.A. and then forbid those whose names they don't like to get on the plane? Can't Arabic people living in Canada visit Latin America? Should I stop talking to my friends of Muslim heritage because they might be terrorists? Do we actually live in a cretinous, xenophobic, hateful world?

If that's the case, I prefer to remain in my "dream world", as some say, and still take each person as they are, without judging their origins or following the "leadership" of the worst person to have been born since Hitler.

"Macho" Commercials

Why is it that in most commercials that have to do with buying new floors or windows, there's this couple formed of a 40-ish beautiful woman and a 60-ish man who looks as if he were made of money? She just sits there, smiling and nodding, while talks to the salesman and looks like he's going to take out his loaded wallet any minute.
I could write 10 pages on this subject, so I'll just stop here.

Estados

http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1555132-1,00.html

Complicata treaba.

Actul sexual are la baza necesitatea reproducerii.

In trecut, oamenii locuiau in comunitati restranse, ai caror membrii erau de obicei inruditi prin diferite legaturi. In acelasi timp, succesele celorlalti aduceau prosperitate intregii comunitati.

Just Listen

Tonight we were invited to dinner over some of our friends' house. We had a great time in the begining, but the evening didn't end as well as we would've hoped. Somehow, the discussion about parents and children-in-law came up. Delicate issue, isn't it? To be honest, I'd never seen it that way... until I got married... I always thought that by making this step you'd gain a second family; it's true that that was not what I had seen at home, but this was one of the main reasons that made me feel hopeful, as awkward as it may sound. I usually seem to try to find hope in the least obvious "places".
Parents-in-law are very important to me; it is true that the two main pieces of the puzzle are represented by him and her, yet parents and their acceptance of the new family member play an important role in a couple's life. I don't agree with those who say that nothing else matters besides the love between two people, that no one else should interfere. As long as they know their limit, mothers and fathers have all the right, if not even the duty, to try and find out for themselves if the other person is what their own child needs, without forgetting to take their time to listen to their offspring. Parents are older, wiser, have more life experience and are the ones to know their son's or daughter's character best. We can be subjective at times, when "blinded by love"... by the way, I detest this expression! Although... unless we're talking about love at first sight (which I wouldn't exactly call "love", but what do I know?), you fall in love with someone for who they are... at first you analyze them, to say so, from a distance, balancing with a pretty objective eye their qualities and faults, and only after make the jump. Nevertheless, a second opinion might come in handy... and not from anyone, but from your parents; that is, again, depending on the kind of relationship you've built with them. They might see things that you don't, might ask you questions you hadn't thought of... I'm not saying it always helps or that you should always be running to them, but... sometimes there is a "but".
How awful would it be to later have to choose between your parents and your spouse? Why should such a choice even come up? These are supposed to be the 3 most important people in your life, and there's no comparing them. Well, when distance comes in between families and parents don't get a chance to know their son or daughter-in-law, conflicts may show up. Miles can represent a shelter, might make you think that their acceptance is not so important... I believe that's wrong. There are not many things that hurt more than being caught in the middle, and this could end up by ruining your marriage. Even though they are far away, there will be periods of time when parents and children, along with their better half (supposedly) will get together and it is vital that these moments be peaceful and maybe even reassuring.
Many more things I'd like to write, but I'll stop here... too long of a message; I'm only going to pinpoint the main idea: just listen... no need to take action, but at least listen, wherever you may be.

Sa rad putin de oalele sparte :P

Intrebare: "Ce parere aveti despre faptul ca, in urma limitarii accesului pe mai multe bulevarde principale ale Capitalei cu ocazia Sommet-ului Francofoniei, nu se mai poate ajunge cu masina in centru - inclusiv in Piata Rasdaq?"

Iata ce-au raspuns cativa reprezentanti ai "shou-biz"-ului mioritic:

Fizz
(Bogdan Croitoru)

Raluca
(Bambi)

Ingerasul tau mic :).
Tu esti, dragostea mea, infinit pentru o viata. Te privesc in ochii tai caprui si vad cum se imbina fiecare culoare a vietii. Dorinte... nu iluzii. Unde ai fost pana acum? Nu conteaza. Esti... :).

Don't Know

A few days ago I watched "Match Point". As people were talking about it, I thought it should be an interesting movie. Indeed, it was. It's been more than a week since I've seen it and I still keep thinking about it. It deals with so many aspects that usually bother me, that go against my principles, but I found myself unable to judge them this time. I don't know why. I actually think I understood them, and this scares me. No, I can't say that I agree with the "solution" he found... but let's not get to that just yet. First of all, I have to say that I don't agree with Woody Allen's point that everything depends on one's luck. Yeah, right, who am I to contradict Woody Allen? Well, I can do whatever I want here :). The main character doesn't get to where he finds himself in the end because of his luck. He has a plan... it's in the "little" things he does: he says he likes opera because he knows rich people usually feel the same way too, at least only because it's a trend. He reads Dostoevsky, without being able to understand a lot, so he resorts to the Penguin "Guide to Dostoevsky"... later on he will use the gathered information to impress his future father-in-law. He slips a word about how smart Tom's sister is... to show a moderate interest, of course. It's important to notice that he never uses words such as "beautiful" when talking about her... this is one of the means the director uses to make the difference between rationality and passion. He keeps offering to pay for things, trying to show that he isn't interested in succeeding by using other's wealth... of course, of course. And many other things...
I don't like movies in which the guy gives in to his lust and hurts the "good girl", the one who is less pretty. Lol! Nevertheless, I couldn't blame J. R. Meyers's character for feeling that way... I just didn't agree with the fact that he still went on and got married... and with the fact that he toyed with both women's emotions. I think I would've understood him better if he had already been married when the other one came along; this doesn't make much sense to me, either, but I don't know... It could've been Jonathan Rhys Meyers's eyes that convinced me... ha, ha, ha!
Getting back to the "luck" matter... indeed, Chris gets lucky in the end, when the wedding ring... but, but... I also find that Woody Allen contradicts himself here. In the begining, the character says that if the ball falls on your side of the court, you lose. The fact is, in the scene I mentioned, the "ball" (aka the wedding ring) falls on his side, but he wins because of that! Again, I don't know...
The ending... a bit too much? That's what I thought at first, but it was the only way to do it without using happy smiles or mawkish break-ups.
Why did I like this movie so much? Don't know. Oh, last thing: I would've never guessed Woody Allen was the director.

Honesty

I have the feeling this entry will not make much sense, but I just need to write the thoughts that cross my mind, without caring about logic or depth.
Weird - wired... no other two words could better describe the way I feel right now. This weekend's been very different from the other ones. I spent most of my time chatting with... friends. I can allow myself to use that word now... I almost wrote "I hope it's a good decision", but I'll just replace "hope" with "know". It makes me stronger, I suppose. Omg, this entry doesn't make any sense! Micul meu was amazing, I would've kicked myself out a long time ago. He's just micul meu, I don't even know what words to use... guess there's no need for words anymore :). These "details" show me how much he... How about me? Do I show it enough? I hope he feels it... maybe that's my mistake, I always assume that people know. Why would they? How could they? OK, micul knows me, he senses, but others? Weird - wired... it makes no sense... and yet... I'm mad... I'm happy... no, I'm ok... I don't know, right now. Stupid... what am I writing about? This blog was a good idea... my thoughts. I've never written like this... why do I keep thinking about the way I write? Is form so important? He, he! Am I worried about the simplicity of my thoughts? Why should I even answer? So many questions... I don't have a lot of answers. I'm listening to these two songs... they've become part of me... I need them for a while, they help me breathe... and make me sad at the same time. I feel so close... and yet afraid. Why? I hate this question. I'm writing in English... strange, I was sure I would use Romanian to express my thoughts... that's good, that's good. I really enjoy writing like this. I'm being very honest and I feel at ease. I feel guilty... I don't want to be mean... I don't know how to react... I can't lie, but how I love hiding! I just assume that people know... stupid, again. Ha! I really enjoy using this word, don't I? :( Well... I don't know how to write it... heck, I don't know how to think it... not good, not good... and now... I said I would write everything that crosses my mind... so I don't want to let it in? Hellooo... My mind is a blur... I'm looking for doors to escape... stay focused... it's your blog, it's your right, it's you... yeah, it's me, and I'm crazy :))))!!! He, he, I miss my funny faces... I could surely use them. Shakespeare... I'm going, I'm going... should I post this? Mumbling... so? If I read this tomorrow, I'll have no idea what it means... funny! Ok, come on... I feel great... why is it such a big deal? So pathetic... hey, it's me! Going out next weekend... for sure. I missed this feeling... secure... no secrets... even though nothing needs to be said. I hope it's true... University, life... nothing helped. Support... reminds me of NY... I missed this. There's two dialogues... indeed. Special, no doubt. But there's one... ha, ha, I'm saying to myself that I should capitalize that "one"! Nope. I don't want to. That's enough, I know it :). Thank you! Without knowing, I missed it. I am richer now... hope I can do the same. There's a kite! No, there really is a kite! Don't like big words... maybe this makes sense, even if it doesn't look like it.
My thoughts... honestly.
